Classes That Foster Collaboration
Students in the MS in Artificial Intelligence program will watch lecture recordings when it fits into their schedule. There will be opportunities to collaborate and engage with faculty and peers on class projects. You should prepare to spend about 24 hours per week on your studies. Students move together through the five-semester program as part of a cohort.

A Capstone Project That Offers Practical Experience (Optional)
Columbia Engineering online students have the same access to practical experience as their on-campus peers. The MS in Artificial Intelligence program includes an optional two-semester capstone project that pairs you with a faculty mentor and industry partners to solve complex challenges.
The first semester focuses on project management, team formation and problem identification. The second semester focuses on iterative development, rigorous testing and final evaluation of the student’s solution.

Application Deadlines for Fall 2026 Admission
The online Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence is a new program that will launch in fall of 2026. You will receive a decision from Columbia Engineering within a few weeks after all application materials have been received. If admitted, you will have two weeks to accept your offer, and pay a $2,000 deposit.
